Ipswich Inter Church Five-a-Side Football league looks to involve those ‘on the fringe’

The new season for the Ipswich Inter Church Five-A-Side Football league kicked off again in September.  The league has been in existence for many years, playing in two divisions at Northgate Sports Centre on Saturday evenings.

League Secretary, Rod Cook, said “There are two seasons each year – from September to early February and late February to early July – with each team playing the other teams twice in the division during a season.”

“Not all the players regularly attend church – churches use it as an activity to involve young people and adults on the fringe of their churches.”

The league has a web site, which is updated weekly to show results and tables. Go to http://ic5asidefl.webs.com/

With ten teams drawn from Ipswich and Woodbridge, both divisions are full at present but anybody wanting to know more should contact Rod on rodney.cook1@ntlworld.com or phone 01473 687333
