Food for Thought

F4T is a initiative organised by the Ipswich Waterfront Churches. Its aim is to bring the community together by offering a tasty two course meal and friendly conversation all for free every Thursday evening at 7pm. The venue, St Helen’s Church, St Helen’s Street, Ipswich is conveniently located near the town centre,  waterfront and university. So why not come along and see for yourself!

Since its opening two months ago, the cafe style event has served a range of meals prepared by talented chefs. Some of the favourites include chilli, toad in the hole, lasagne and cottage pie. The desserts have been popular too, especially rhubarb crumble, banoffee pie and strawberry pavlova. After each meal, dessert is followed by a nice cup of tea or coffee. The aim for the future is to source food from the charity FareShare, who work with local supermarkets to reduce food waste.

Each evening, an inspiring speaker provides a few words for everyone to consider on a theme, often with images or a short video. This usually includes a bible verse, a prayer and sharing the gospel message.  The talks are short and thought-provoking and suitable for anyone from any walk of life. Guests are always offered prayer at the end of the night.

Please come along and sample the food. You could even help out, as this project is gaining popularity and more servers are always welcome. F4T represents Jesus in Ipswich and there is no better way to represent Him than serving the community with great hospitality alongside the gospel message. Everyone is welcome!
