Introducing the new anglican diocesan Youth and Young Adults Officer

The Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich welcome Matt Levett who joined the Diocesan team this week as Youth and Young Adults Officer.

Matt has spent his whole working career in local Church youth ministry, in Anglican Churches, Brethren Churches and lastly at The Forge Community Church in mid-Suffolk.
He’s a passionate believer that the local Church really is the hope for the world and he
really wants to be involved in helping churches to grow – by growing younger, with a focus
on young people, culture and mission and teaching theology to the non-religious. He’s
lived in Suffolk for a long time and loves the area.
Matt is endlessly enthusiastic about helping equip anyone who wants to be better at youth
work. He really enjoys meeting new people so contact him for coffee and a chat by
    emailing him directly on
Away from work, Matt is an avid admirer of all things comic book, especially Wonder
Woman. He loves good films, good food; the idea of surfing (but is really quite
bad at it !) and he loves open water swimming. He plays the board game Risk – a lot! – and he has an inexplicable interest in cryptozoology and actually attends the Eurovision Song
contest every year! In any spare time he has, he helps to run a charity for street kids in
Latin America and gets out to Guatemala whenever he can.
