New ‘Gathered’ prayer event seeks to continue the ‘spirit of unity’ across the Christian Community in Ipswich

Building on the now widely recognised and much anticipated annual ‘Crown Him’ event held every January in Ipswich, that celebrates christian unity across the town, organisers Ipswich in Prayer are due to launch a new, more regular event.

Judith Mason from IIP says, “We had a wonderful evening of celebration at the annual ‘Crown Him with Many Crowns’ event in January. Thank you so much to our hosts at Colchester Road Baptist Churchto the worship band, the technical team and, of course, to everyone who came along.”

“We were privileged to hear from Sandy Millar, who inspired and challenged us, and it was also really interesting to hear from Tim Passmore, Police and Crime Commissioner for Suffolk. Tim suggested prayer points that we could use as a focus over the coming year.”

For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them”

Matthew 18:20

On March 23rd, at 7.30pm, Ipswich in Prayer will be holding their first “Gathered” meeting at St John’s Church, Cauldwell Hall Road, Ipswich

Judith explains, “During the evening, as we are gathered in God’s presence, we can;

  • worship together in unity
  • share what God is saying to prayer groups within different church communities and draw together any common threads (please bring any prayer notes you may like to share)
  • listen to God together for further revelation for the Church in Ipswich
  • intercede together for our town

We can then take back to our individual Church communities what we perceive God has been / is saying to Ipswich, for encouragement and further prayer.”

If you lead – or are involved in – a prayer group but are unable to join the evening, Judith would still be really pleased to connect with you. You can email her at or use the contact page on their website.
