LOVE IPSWICH- 300 hampers delivered to vulnerable families across Suffolk and Norfolk

    This Christmas almost 300 families received a Christmas Treat Box courtesy of local charities Love Ipswich and Love Norwich, working in partnership with local church Proclaimers.

    This year, the hamper appeal looked a little different due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Monetary donations were collected from individuals, families, work places and schools. These were all grouped together to create Christmas Treat Boxes, full of sweet treats, condiments such as gravy and a supermarket voucher for £25 which families could use to purchase the perfect items to make their Christmas extra special. Last year was tough for so many and the number of referrals received across the two counties was higher than ever, so it was wonderful that so many families could have a better Christmas.

    Thank you to everyone who donated money or groceries and also to those who helped with the deliveries. Here is just one of the many responses to your generosity;

    “Thank you so much for the hamper, it is lovely to know that people still care and when I eat the food on Christmas Day, it will feel like it was given to me by a friend.”
