Number 72 – a registered charity offering easily accessed help, support and friendship from its base in North Street, Sudbury – is currently seeking to recruit volunteer Neighbourhood chaplains.

As part of an exciting new initiative, Number 72 is looking for volunteers to become involved in its Neighbourhood Chaplains team. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Various roles are available. These include Chaplains, who (when current restrictions are lifted) will go out into the community to make contact with people and provide practical, emotional and spiritual support, as necessary. The existing team will always be on hand to deal with more complex or urgent needs which arise if necessary.

In addition to this, Number 72 also needs volunteers who, although they might not be comfortable making the initial contact with those who need help, would be prepared to provide support in prayer and/or practical ways.

    How to apply
