This key role within its established, experienced and dedicated support team will underpin the well-being support provided by helping to improve skills, create stability and independence, ensure full access to resources and improve mental health.


The successful applicant will take a lead on referrals, build and maintain positive relationships with all partnership agencies and ensure full compliance in relation to policy and legislation.

Overall Purpose of the Job

  • Taking a person-centred and positive risk taking approach to enable people to maintain and improve their wellbeing, independence, effectively manage and improve their personal safety and improve their social, emotional and mental wellbeing and comprehensively integrated with the running of a successful social enterprise.
  • Based at the Royal Oak, Ipswich this role will work alongside the Catering Manager, working on a 1:1 basis with learners to improve deliverables; tailoring training to an individual’s learning needs.
  • Delivering a bespoke training program of real work experience complemented by quality certificated modular online training.
  • Building external networks with local employers to build genuine links into recruitment opportunities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, organise and run a varied and stimulating training programme focusing on all aspects of Hospitality.
  • To work in partnership with other agencies (ie job centers (DWP) the Probation team, welfare to work providers, HMP Hollersley Bay Resettlement team) offer short-term work-experience placements for those furthest from the employment market.
  • Manage a financial budget effectively and efficiently.
  • Help provide the opportunity for creative and emotional social interaction and enjoyment.
  • A strong and inclusive team player, working with the Community team to identify any hidden support needs and refer accordingly to a wider multi-disciplinary team whilst positively representing the organisation at all times.
  • Monitor the effects and impact of the training programme and write brief notes on each individual/group activity session undertaken through a web-based system and feed back to deliver our contractual obligations.
  • To be able to relate to people exposed to social crisis by having the ability to empathise, respond and find solutions to their problems by applying a sound knowledge of what is available throughout the county and accessing services.
  • To support people with their vocational options which may include access to services offered through the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP).
