Family First is a local Christian charity which offers a mentoring service matching trained volunteers and workers with parents and carers to listen, support and empower them to achieve their goals.
Family First is now looking to recruit a part-time Family Worker. This role will be undertaken on a self-employed basis. The post will be for a maximum of 14 hours per week working a Monday and ideally Thursday/Friday but there should be some flexibility. Exact start date and hours to be agreed with the successful candidate.
As a Family Worker you would hold a caseload of families. Some families will remain under your care but, where appropriate, a volunteer may be allocated to continue the work. You would retain case responsibility and would supervise and support the volunteer as well as undertaking reviews with the family to ensure work is progressing.
All team members are expected to be advocates for the charity and you may be required to support at events and activities to help raise awareness, fundraise or network with other agencies.
As a relatively small team, Family First values the supportive environment it has created within the service. You must be able to work alone but also be a committed team member attending and contributing to team meetings (which include a time of prayer) and supervision sessions.
The right candidate will:
- Understand and be supportive of our core Christian values and Statement of Faith
- Be passionate about working with families
- Have experience and understanding of working with families who face a range of difficulties
- Be flexible in working from home, visiting families and office base as required
