Shelter is offering up to £100 for groups to plan and implement a business idea or fundraising activity!

Shelter exists to support millions of people each year who are struggling with housing issues and homelessness. It does this through advice, support, legal services and campaigning to ensure that one day nobody will have to turn to it for help.
Shelter has been working on a community initiative, 100-100s, to inspire young people through entrepreneurship, whilst helping those impacted by homelessness and the housing emergency.
If you would be interested or have any questions at all, please get in touch with Maya ([email protected]) or sign up on the website 100-100s fundraising challenge for schools – Shelter England.
    How does it work?
    • Each group has a maximum budget of £100 to create a business initiative or fundraising activity. They should aim to make as much money as possible with the goal to raise at least £300.
They can choose how they want to do the programme, depending on their capacity, here is a suggested outline, but these steps are optional!
    • Each group would pitch their idea to a panel, practicing their business planning and presentation skills. They can then be provided with feedback.  They can ask for support from your local Shelter contact, Maya, or a business mentor as they move forward with their plans.
    • Once complete, the young people will have had experience planning and completing a profit-making activity, all whilst raising money for Shelter. They can evaluate and learn from their experience.
This project has a lot of flexibility so it can work around the group, their timings, and completed in a way that fits their ways of working.
This is a great opportunity for young people to practice real life business skills, and work with a charity within their community.
Maya can’t wait to hear from you!
