Staff, volunteers and supporters in Ipswich came to The Salvation Army’s Priory Centre in Ipswich for an afternoon of celebration and gratitude at the annual Christmas lunch.
Ipswich Salvation Army leaders Majors Stephen and Sandra Battle led a carol service and the presentation of certificates to staff and volunteers at the event which was organised by community manager Shamaila Waddle.
A highlight of the afternoon was the announcement that volunteers pledged an impressive 863 hours and 40 minutes of volunteer time in 2025 – a testament to the dedication and community spirit that underpin the centre’s work.
Guests took part in a lively cryptic quiz before enjoying a festive lunch that rounded off the celebrations.
Shamaila said the event was a wonderful success that truly showcased the heart of the community.
She added: “Our outreach work is continuing to grow thanks to the commitment of our volunteers and staff. Their contribution is vital to everything we do, and we’re deeply grateful for their dedication.”
The Ipswich Priory Centre runs a number of activities throughout the week including a toddler’s group, lunch club and art for fun session. For more information, go to www.salvationarmy.org.uk/ipswich-priory
