Christians Against Poverty Ipswich is excited to announce it has secured funding to appoint an additional debt coach for one year initially (and is actively pursuing funds for longer term) to support its current debt centre manager.
CAP works exclusively through the local church, so it is seeking applications from a committed church member, supported by their local (Ipswich based) church to fulfil this role for a fixed term of one year. The partnership has funding for the role and anticipates it will be paid at £13.45 per hour for 16 hours per week.
The role will commence in June 2026, full training for the role is provided by CAP and the role is supported by CAP, the debt centre manager, an administrator, a community links co-ordinator and a volunteer visiting team.
Personal, unmanageable debt is a growing problem in the UK. As Christians, we are inspired by Jesus to have compassion for those in need to, with His support, respond and help where we can. In 2021, a partnership of 7 Ipswich churches relaunched the Ipswich Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Debt Centre. Together, they have helped hundreds of local people with problem debts and seen dozens of those become debt free – with more on their way. Many of CAP’s clients do not know Jesus or have nothing to do with church. Through this service CAP is able to not only help with their debts but also demonstrate His love for them.
