On Sunday 4 October, the County Harvest Festival will bring the community together to celebrate the farming heritage of Suffolk and celebrate the people and organisations across the county who work the land and sea.

Starting at 10am, Harvest activities on Angel Hill will celebrate Suffolk’s agricultural tradition.
Highlights will include the Suffolk Trinity animals (Suffolk Punch horses, Red Poll cattle, and Suffolk sheep) on display, alongside farming machinery, family activities, and food and drink.

At 12 noon, a Harvest Luncheon will take place at the Athenaeum. Open to all, it offers an opportunity for guests from across the county to gather in celebration of the harvest and enjoy a delicious lunch together. Tickets are £45 per person and available in advance from

At 3:30 pm, the traditional Harvest Festival Service will begin at St Edmundsbury Cathedral, bringing together worship, thanksgiving, and community spirit. The service will include the offering of this year’s harvest as we give thanks for the fruits of the earth and sea, and the labour of those who work upon them.

The Reverend Canon Katy Cunliffe, Canon Precentor at St Edmundsbury Cathedral said, “We’re very excited to expand the Harvest Festival this year, bringing back a number of traditions from previous years. We invite the whole of the Suffolk community to come along and celebrate with us.”

The Harvest celebration is a work of partnership between many organisations in Suffolk, including St Edmundsbury Cathedral, Suffolk Agricultural Association, The Farming Community Network, NFU, CLA, Addington Fund, YANA, RABI, The Fishermen’s Mission, Suffolk Young Farmers and Love British Food.
